Please help. I fitted some new mini sport 8.4inch vented discs and alloy callipers about 400miles ago now. I have smeared a generous amount of copper grease on the back of the pads, but still get a lot of squeeling under light breaking. It just seems to happen on one side only. Any suggestions greatly welcome.. Really starting to annoy me now..Many thanks

I had the same thing when I fitted new front brakes for my 10" wheels although mine only squeal when hot (dropping down through the Alps they made a terrible noise) - I'll get around to trying a different pad material one day

They're padded shims between the piston and the pads. Have you removed the shields from behind the disc?

Yes  i did remove the shields..Why ? Also i have been onto mini sport today and apparently they dont do anti rattles for the 8.4 inch disc conversion. The salesman recomends filing a groove across the pads to help  ?????
