How should new wings be seam sealed? Is it basically all the way round topside and underneath?

I use a brushable seam sealer on the seams behind in the wheel arch and normal gun sealer on the outside.

It's a good idea to mask of the external seams prior then you can gun the sealer in, wipe to shape with a finger or cloth soaked in panel wipe and then peel the tape off

Yes as that is a water trap.

Hi Guys

Sorry to jump in on this thread,

Do you seam seal

  • before etch and primer
  • between etch and primer
  • after etch and primer

Also any recommendations on which to use preferably not brush on.

Thanks in advance

Josh

I seam seal after Epoxy primer. I use Aviation sealant which has anti corrosion inhibitor as part of its mix.

Always have a primer on before applying the seam sealer.

It is also unnecessary to primer over the seam sealer.

I always make sure that the seam sealing is the last thing i do before applying colour so the car would be primed, flatted and then sealed.
