I'm starting to build my collection of panels for the rebuild of my mini, every now and then i see some nos mg rover stickered panels pop up and I'm wondering are these any better than heritage panels? I know heritage are made from the tooling the rover ones were but with the quality of steel seemingly diminishing by the second would the nos panels a better bet? Also can you see any implications of having an mg rover wing with a heritage front panel or the likes? Thanks

Daniel

There would be little difference between them although as the tooling wears out, the panels are not as crisp as they once were.

I would go for the NOS panels and there would be no problems pairing them with Heritage panels.

I have to disagree I too have been collecting nos panels and have to say wings, seam finishers, rear van doors, rear quaters,a panels are far superior fit than heritage, down side is cost

I can also add that nos bmc panels are better than heritage, although heritage panels are good in fact some magnum panels are ok. Think we are spoilt with mini restoration due to amount of panels available. Try restoring other cars from even as late as the 1980's and the situation with panels is far worse.

Personally after useing heritage and patten panels I would always go for a good quality patten ones. There just as much work to fit these as there is heritage. Then there the price difference too.

I also bought 6 pairs of Austin labelled wings and assorted panels and they put the rover panels to shame
