Door cards look to be correct but seats are definitely later ones, these should have been houndstooth with no headrests.

Don't mean to disagree but I believe the seats are not original? Just for your own information.
It's a bit of a giveaway the door cards & steering wheel being black & the seats being grey.
The seats aren't from the Sept 1980- April 1982 998cc Mini City but from the later car also named the Mini City (Aug 1988 on). Originality is one thing but i'd rather have the later thicker padded more comfortable seats any day.

Oh no they didn't.... they might have had a 2x 1985 Mini City E -they had Sawtooth fabric seat covers (looks like the Houndstooth design but slightly larger).
Don't let Malcolm find out you've got it wrong!
I don't think the seats originality is really that important compared to the possibility of buying a Mini that's had all the rust cut out.

Don't get me wrong it is a lovely mini and it wouldn't put me off if I was in the market, just thought the OP should know for his own benefit.

Hi
I love the ones with the City side stripes and it is great to see that this has been restored. I had a W reg "City" back in the day.The seats were the houndstooth ones as described by others above. Also the wheels were different and I don't think the engine block was painted green.
