As title, is this worth saving? Was going to replace the whole wing but then saw the price, ThanksDSCF3646_zpskecuco6y.jpgDSCF3645_zpsgcggnvdf.jpgDSCF3644_zpskwfvvpuj.jpg

The whole driver side inner wing will be replaced because the previous owner re shaped it when he came to an abrupt stop, so probably best to have a matching pair

You can buy the front half which is what i did on Paddy, nowhere near as expensive. A bit fiddly to line up but fits a treat.

And believe me by the time you strip off the cowl as well it will not be worth saving. Mine looked better than that and i still binned it.

I'd un-spot the cowl and see how bad it is under the join, as Sonikk says, if it's holed and grotty then you'd be best off with a new panel.
If it's still all good after media blasting, I'd keep it!

I need to repair the bottom of the flitch as well, when I remove the scuttle there may be repairs needed at the top, just think a new whole wing may be the easiest option, just scared by the price. My minispares discount will soften the blow

They are pricey.. but it's worth it I think. Of most importance for me would be welding it where the join will be invisible, so it looks totally correct ;)

I replaced both of those sections and saved the rest.

Take the shock mounts off and see what lurks under them

The replacement front section goes past there anyway Carlos.

Right. I think I'll try the half panel if after I've cleaned up the flitch it's ok other than the bit I removed when taking the sills off. I'll need to replace the whole driver inner wing, using the passenger side to aid alignment then use the half panel, if that makes sense. Thanks for the advice

Make yourself a jig to get the correct length and height. I used my spit then added pieces of box to that to aid alignment. Worked a treat.

I need to replace scuttle as well, guessing the inner wings first then scuttle. Was thinking using a bonnet for a guide and lots of trial and error and plenty of clamps. Still upside down on a roof rack. Not sure how to set a jig up, will work it out when I roll it back over in a few weeks

Yup inner wings first then scuttle. Use Project Paddy as a guide to help you.

Will do. Read through it a couple of times, very good for reference. I'll take my time and get it the best I can
