Hiya folks,

I've bought new clubman estate side(sliding) window seals
Part numbers:
14A7630
14A7631
14A7632
14A7633

One outer edge is 3-4 mm taller than the other side( on each of the numbers as above)
Does the taller side go the the outside of the car, or up against the vertical shoulder on the inside edge?

Hi,

I believe the taller edge bears against the vertical shoulder on the inner edge of the window frame. The lower shorter edge would then allow water in the channel to drain out?

Someone who knows for definite will be along shortly hopefully!

Cheers, Steve.

Got them in, the way to do it is to put the bottom seal in, then the front and rear(vertical)

Slot window into the bottom seal, then fit top seal onto windows and slide into place

I have just taken my rear windows out due to rotten running seals.

The old runners were stuck solid and filled with moss. In the end I had to carve them away with a stanley knife and a used a makeshift prodding stick and literally peel away the old felt runners and remove the rusty frames. I slid the glass along to the front to remove the top screws, took the side frames out then carefully popped the top runner out until I was able to slide the old glass out.

Plenty of brews and sitting in the back thinking of what to do next was also involved.

They're a pain

We cut the old rubber ones out.

The new minispares velvet items are a nightmare to fit

I have got them ready to fit, I got all 4 sides bit need to prep the metal frame first and remove bita of rust etc. By the looks of it they have been leaking for a while.

Do you have any pics of how they look after you have fitted them? I will keep you updated how the fitting goes 😆

We fitted ours without the picture frame external finishers fitted, much easier

Top tip:

Cut and fit the bottom and vertical seals, then you need to place the widows into the middle of the lower seal, then fit top seal to windows and slide into place

Give me 10 mins, I will add pics :)

I've been putting this job off for a long time.  This thread is giving me some inspiration.

We used the part numbers listed in the first post, the seals need drilled and screwed to allow the windows to fit
