Mpi Still Overheats Under Load

Driving on the motorway and the temperature needle kept pushing past half way at around 70 depending on how hilly it was. Kept having to ease back to 60 ish.
So much has been done to try solve this.
- new water pump
- complete cooling system flush and reverse flush
- new top hose
- new expansion tank and genuine cap
- new coolant mix
- heater on full blowing red hot air
- radiator seems good, not old.
Is this a case of just accepting it?

Is ignition timing correct....?
Is fuel mixture also correct....?

humm time take the head look for cracks . id would go with timing but the ecu sorts that, do you know any one with a mpi mini and try swoping parts and see what happens

Well I'm not sure how to check the accuracy but I know it only ever, ever rises past half way when the engine is being pushed. Full throttle for more than say 20 seconds is a big no no.
I know for sure that if I let it, the temp gauge would go to the max.
I don't know how old the thermostat is. At least 3 years old.

have you considered the possability that itmay be a head gasket issue. You can get a sniffer kit that detects CO in the coolant that indicates possible head gasket failure.

If its not going into the red then I can't see there being much of a issue, if any. A mini will always run slightly hotter on a motorway with the increased revs and hotter air from the surrounding vehicles.
There seams to be an obsession with trying to get minis to run too cool, as soon as the needle rises to half (witch is normal running temp) they panic thinking its too hot/overheating.
