Just wondering what a rough cost of a respray of my mini 30 would be.

I want the exterior done only.

I would remove the glass/bumpers/lights/grille/spotlights and anything else in the way myself. And put it back on afterwards.

There are very small bubbles round the windscreen and rear windscreen that would need sorted, they are not holes, as for a few tiny dimples round the car that would need smoothed off, the seems next the the scuttle needing sorted. and a dent in 1 A panel and the front valence to be sorted.

The arches would be made the same colour as the car, as original. And the black and gold stripes down the side to be stuck on.

Am i right in saying i should expect approximately £1000?

I know the cost can vary depending on a number of things, just wondering if anyone has a good idea.

Cheers Angus

Any dimples extends from rust behind the panels. I'd be budgeting £2k easily.

My resprays start from around £1100 for a Mini and for that, you get final prep, prime, topcoat and then final flatting and polishing.

As Steve said, any rust bubbles on the surface will be worse than you think and often result in holes which then need to be repaired.

If your's is as you say, then approx 2k plus is where you should be budgeting. This of course all depends on how involved the repairs become. There is no point fully respraying a car unless the substrate is A1 because of the cost involved.

You wouldn't want it to look stunning for 6 months and then rust to begin forming in the same places.

Like everything though, prices will vary from place to place and if someone says they can do it cheap, then the results may not be as good or long lasting.

Hope that helps.

Ben
