Twin hif 4/38's were fitted to later mgs etc before some one says they didn't make them.

A HIF44 is good enough for most road base builds you will see.
Twins have a place and being realistic it is only the old Skool ones that have the value for the retro build look. For most other builds the HIFis a better option.

Twins do look great and I suspect in most instances, that's why they bring money, and a single HIF does look pretty lame by comparison.
I recently posted up a HP vs Carb sizing guide if you do a search.

They are not needed so no one buys them. The actual point of my question was, why don't twin hif type carbs command more money, when I presume they are a better carb, I know the plus and minus sides of both set ups.

But need and want are two seperate things, do I need 300bhp in my kit car, the answer is no, but will I have 300bhp in a car that weighs 650kg, what do you think :)

Guess you're not using an A-series engine if you're shooting for 300bhp? Unless you want to rebuilt it very often. I think even with forced induction on a 1380 (or stroked to even bigger capacity) won't yield those kind of figures. Happy to be corrected here but to me it seems unrealistic on an a-series.

I think he may have exaggerated slightly when he says 300 BHP....

2.0 zetec engine in the kit, 300bhp is sooooo easy, now 450-550 bhp, then things get interesting, but back to the mini,I've got both set ups for the engine, single 44hif and twin hif4'su. After seeing Graemec's setup I think I'll go with that.

Think the fella above was referring to you getting 300BHP from an A series.... thats what I got anyway..
ZETEC's are a good strong engine, used to have the ZETEC S engine in a Fiesta my wife used to have, that went well indeed...

The linkages are a squeeze to get in and, depending on where your HIFs are from you may need to fashion up a throttle cable bracket (the one in that pic wasn't stiff enough, I now have one from an Allegro 1750SS)
Thinking of doing the same.. any close up pics of the setup would be useful, May mate use to run twin HIF4s years ago on a hillclimb mini... very effective.
