Northerpower - would you mind expanding re injection? What capacity is your engine?

A big thanks to everyone who chipped in to this thread.

I'm going with Specialist Components. I spoke to a couple of great people - SC matched what I was looking for with cost in the best way for me.

If anyone is interested I'll keep it posted here.

Thanks again,

Damian

So what did you go for 5 port, 7port or 16v BMW?

Specialist components built my short block for me ( I am very satisfied) I had them send it of to Guessworks who then added the gearbox and clutch, flywheel.

Link below to 'OAP Race Engines' facebook page, lots of photos of his great engine builds.
Oz is also a TMF member here and builds many road and race winning Mini engines:-

Hi,
Engine here should be out tomorrow then off to SC.
Anyone have any suggestion on how to courier it from the North East down to SC?
Skinned fingers and knuckles aplenty too!
I think I'm going to replace the wiring loom. It looks like Stevie Wonder may have been involved at some point in the past - the different types of connectors in there is mind-boggling!!!!
Anyone have any advice / comment on this?
Was a big decision to go this engine route due to costs, but now committed really looking forward to it.

Missed one - sorry.
Had to go for the 5 port. Cash was the determining factor at this stage.
But I really like the 7 porters and the bmw even more.
I want to get my car running nicely and enjoy it, assess what more I need and then look at my options.

Sc components are building an injected 1380 c110bhp/100lbft
I need a decent LCB to connect up to a mini play single box, no Cat .
What would folk recommend?
Thanks All.

SC's own works very well and it'll probably be the one they use to set your engine up on their dyno. It's good value and being stainless it looks good too.

Thanks
I saw a pic of SC's LCB and had a chat with them - looks a lovely piece of kit.

That's what I have. For the money the quality of the pipe work is excellent. I didn't use their clamps, I went for the stainless mikalor style.

Ive gone for a 1340 by jonspeed and that seems to work pretty well, thinking maybe going for a twin carb but it goes well and its no more unreliable than a 1275. Little bit pricey though, youd be looking at maybe 2 grand ish

Thanks WHPkidd - I went for Specialist Components in the end. Engine has gone off today!

Thanks Northernpower - I'll get one of theirs then; Im guessing should match up well with their head. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

Damian
