Hi There

I am looking for my first mini it has to be an auto, but wondered if the 998 has enough power or should I go for a 1275?

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

We're going to need a bit more info. to answer this:

What are you going to be doing with your mini?

Mini Miglia?

Track days?

Blasting down B roads at the weekend ?

Commuting daily?

Fair Weather hobby?

A standard 1275 auto is pretty slow by todays standards, so it's really how slow your prepared to accelerate, and as above, what sort of driver you are.

I say drive them both and see what you are happy with!

I've recently bought a 998 with the intention of fitting a 1275. But this 998 is a lovely little engine, so it's staying.

Hi Thanks for the replies, I am no rally driver, more of a steady plodder I tried one 998 and it seemed slow but there were 3 of us in the mini.

I used to drive a metro 1.3 auto about 20 years ago and it seemed nippy then.
