So, long story short a 200 mile round trip on the motorway has more than likely been the cause of a loss in oil pressure, fun times eh.
So as the engine needs to come out and be torn down to see whats gone wrong and have a freshen up, I was wondering what mods I can do to it now to get a little bit of power from it.
It's an 1275 SPI, so i was thinking of a Kent Cams MD274 and I'm also thinking while it's all apart to get maybe get a new head, but would need advice on which one to go for.
If there is anything else small that can be done that I have missed, it would be great to know so I can weigh up my options.
Cheers.

Have you checked the oil pressure relief valve yet, Zach?
If it's coming out, I'd be cleaning up all the metal and panelwork that's usually hard to get at- waxoil at the ready!
Also, if you're at all unsure about the steering rack condition, I'd replace it while you have good access..

Clutch, release bearing, oil pump, water pump, camshaft retainer place, every gasket, engine mounts, stabiliser rubbers. Only then would i start looking at power.
If you're looking at new heads, check availability. I've been trying to sort mine out and was told a 6-8 week lead on some. Look at an SW5 cam, great power and fun above 3k!

@Wiggywithhailo, good shout, might as well really.
@Boycie, We are going to do a check on it later today, but the light comes on when idling and goes out after 1500rpm ish.
@steve220, already considered all of that in the engine rebuild if it does need it.
However that is interesting to know about availability as i want to try and have it back together for L2B (tight schedule i know)
