Not driven for a week but just now when I took the car out i had to brake firmly and heard a grinding noise from the rear - I am guessing at the moment it's from the brakes
Tried braking softly and no noise but anything firmer the rear makes the same noise
Any ideas?

Cheers Lenny

Has the handbrake been left on? Did the brakes stick on? They usually do if the pistons in the calipers etc are cruddy, the noise may also be light surface rust....

Just slightly left foot brake a few times to clean the surfaces up

If in the slightest doubt, take the drums off for inspection. But I agree that it is probably rust.
