Hiya guys, some of you may know I have a mk2 golf. Brought it originally about 5 years ago as a 1.6 driver. I then sold it around a year later and regretted it massively. Lucky for me I got the chance to buy it back. I jumped at the chance.
I then planned to do a 20vt engine conversion. And just 4 weeks before I was gonna take her off the road and do the engine. I crashed her. No cosmetic damage but all the running gear was bent and twisted. Luckily for me I was swapping it all out for mk3 running gear. Which is slightly wider.
I then brought a mk3 2.016v to break and use all the bits in my car.
Got the car built and in road and was unreal. Had to mapped and was running 240/250bhp which is a light car was great. Surprised alot of cars out on the road.
Fast forward a year and the golfs body is getting bad. Now needs rear arches, few repairs to sills and front wings repairing.
Few pics when I originally brought it.
I then sold it and got it back like this
I then started the conversion. Which included the mk3 golf running gear bigger brakes ect. Brought myself some banded steels
Big intercooler
I then went back to the mk3 golf wheels as it drove bloody horrible on the big 9j et0 steels.
More updates as of tomorrow.
Thanks Dan

Nice mate glad your doing a build on this beast!
About a year after I passed my test I nearly bought a 3 door red mk2 driver, so i could take my mini at the time off the road. I missed out on this and always ponder the idea of buying one... it would make a great appreciating retro daily hmm
I look forward to seeing the progress on this.
