Hello folks,

Our little project Mk4 is nearing completion and i have hit a small inspirational blockage....

The shell is being painted a brilliant red, but ive realised i cant decide on the best colour combination for the seats, door cards and carpet.

The seats are from a Mk5 with the thicker bolsters and i want to get them completely re-trimmed.

So, i had in my mind this combination -

Carpets - Red

Seats - English Cream with only red piping and stitching (both centre and main panels all enginsh cream)

Door cards - English Cream with a single red pinstripe (Monte Carlo)

What do you think to that?

Do any of you lovely people have a similar combination (beige, tan, etc...)

Any creative inspiration is welcomed.

Medium grey goes well with red.

about 15 years ago we had this set specially made for our red cooper by newton commercial. looking back now i think its horrible.
i find the white/cream interiors look very dated, almost 90's in style. although the red carpet is nice...

it wasn't long before it was toned down with black seats and door cards, but again the red carpet sets it off nice.

eventually it was put back as standard, and my current taste is for a toned down look in a single colour, but you can see here how the black carpet does not seem to "Pop" like the red one.

got to agree with Tiger, a nice grey interior would suit a red car.

I think that interior looks great, it's just the red wheel that spoils it.

. I agree this would look great with a nice wooden Moto Lita steering wheel.

All black or black seats and charcoal carpets.   I personally think tan seats only suit a grey car.   The original style red and pale grey takes some beating in a retro car.

Red carpet, black seats with red piping and do something interesting with the dashboard for contrast.
