Whenever I come across japanese style minis I find them the best looking, if anyone has a japanese styled mini

if you could post pics that would be great.

 

By japanese styled I mean things like the 10" wheels, the different mirrors, different trim and external features

Here's my '94 Jap 1275 Auto with air-con, it was imported back into the UK in January last year and I bought it in October. I've changed / added a few more period bits since then and if I keep it the plan is to have Optimise fit a vinyl roof in matching dark green as a nod to W&P Minis of the '70s. It started life as a Mayfair on 12'' steel wheels (which I still have) with a horrible velour interior (donated to a neighbour for his project Mini) and offset gauges etc, but while it was in Japan someone spent a fair whack on taking it back to early Mk3 appearance with centre binnacle, Rokee dash, adjustable shocks, Nardi steering wheel, S discs, 10'' alloys, Mk2/3 rear lights etc. The door furniture is typical of many Japanese Minis which I've seen on youtube. As well as the 12'' steelies it came with a set of rare '70s Mk3 5''x10'' Cosmics which I've taken off to be refurbished and replaced with a set of JBW Mk2 6''x10''s...

What it needs is a Jap 'Mini 1300' boot lid badge like this one...

The Cosmics are quite rare, although I've now acquired two full sets! I bought the seats, door and rear quarter cards from a trimmer on ebay at Christmas time, the velour originals weren't up to much so they had to go. The Rokee dash has been recovered in self adhesive black vinyl since I took the photos and a set of Optimise's matching door and rear quarter cappings have been fitted which improve the interior no end, I've also swapped the steering wheels over between my two cars...

 

 

The original plan was to put a green leather interior in but the black set came along at the right price. The vinyl dash top rail was already in the car when I bought it, it's a one piece moulding which has been glued in, probably a Japanese aftermarket job.
