Once again I've made a little progress.  I made the fuel tank support because to order one was more money than I cared to spend for something that is never seen.  It now holds the tank up off the floor about 1/8" when I apply the rubber pad.

 

I've also attached some pictures of the other work I've gotten done.  I know the welds are little sloppy but they are getting good penetration.  And some of the real ugly welds are left over from the previous repair work done many years ago by the previous owner.  This car has been saved twice.  My guess is a Mini needs this kind of work every ten years or so if driven regularly. 

 

So far I'm happy with the way things are fitting.
