Hi I wanted to build a mini with something like 100bhp. I was thinking a k1100 head or a stage 3 but I can't find straight answers as to witch would be better. Also stick with the 998cc for reliability or 1275? Any sujestions would be great. A friend is building a VTEC but I wanted to be different hence k1100. What do you guys think?

First you need to find a car and then you need to decide what your budget is.

and then triple it.

I'm near 20 so this will probably be a 6year build. My budget is in considered but I won't be driving it until its done right, I won't settle for less then what I want. I have no bills to pay as such so it'll be a bit Easter to start now. I have my eye on a car allready

Heya there,
I'm also fresh to the forum and thought I'd say hello here since I'm actually in a very similar position with a project that's been years in the scheming.
I've spent hours trawling through forum feeds discussing all sorts and can safely say I'm sure you'll find everything you need here in terms of advice and support.
All I will say is that if you're after 100+ bhp you're best bet is starting with the 1275 block - and prepare you're credit cards!!

Certainly will, i'll keep a build diary of it once it's underway - i've promised the misses i'll finish the extension, bathroom, stairwell, garden and driveway before i'm allowed to get the spanners out though!!

100BHP in a mini is achievable and depending on what you do, can be relatively easy to obtain, it's just the funds.
If all you want is the power figure then I would suggest a 1275 turbo, there are kits for the A series engine to make life a lot more simple.  However with that much power you're going to need to go over the whole car, brakes, suspension, fuel system, safety features etc etc..

I wish you all the best in your build!

to be honest I think I'll try and make is stop before I make it go.. I'm not worked about funds I just wondering what the best engine bots or engine for cost vs. Reward would be?

If budget isn't much of an issue, Honda B16/B18 would be the best bet for a whole lot of go.
A good video driving a B18 Mini from BenXL

Have you thought about a Supercharged 1275? a VMaxscart kit.
