There is no entrapment. The speed limits are clearly defined. And not just by the signs, there are given rules for different types of road. Its in the highway code.

So a tight blind corner (tall trees/bushes and a wall on the apex) in a national speed limit, single carriageway A road goes immediately to 30mph with no prior warning and a camera van pointing at you is all ok? Be real. They're racking up more evidence that people speed in the area/cash in pocket to reinforce a situation caused by improper signage or even a notice there is speed cameras in operation, rather than doing the correct thing and adding rumble strips or a notice of an upcoming village.

It's just about grabbing the cash!

Nothing to do with road safety at all. If it was the focus would be on detecting unsafe driving.

To be fair many people are 'caught' in areas they know so they know full well there's a 30 zone around the bend.

Have you noticed how they lower the speed limits to unrealistic levels, then raise the threshold speed at which a Sped Awareness Course is offered. That means that the cash from the cameras goes to the Police as a bribe for not prosecuting you as opposed to going to the Treasury.

Maybe they will do 'Burglary Awareness Courses' next for burglars to advise them not to steal.

The idea of paying the police not to prosecute an offence they believe to have been committed is quite simply bribery on a huge scale. Hertfordshire County Council, who run the SAC's in Herts. made £3.7M last year from them before costs  , and they are also the organisation which sets the speed limits. Need one say more  ;D .
