Hi folks

I am looking for some advice please!

I'm putting a metro 1275 into a 1992 sprite shell and neither came with any heater hoses or valves etc.

I prefer the look of the valves that go on the left hand end of the head when viewed from the front and using one of these would mean i don't need an additional 'take off' part. Is there any detriment to using one of these over the 'floating' type that would probably be period correct for the car?

Also heater connections on the right hand side of the engine seem varied. I have seen thermostat sandwich plates, hoses with take off and water pumps with take off. Again, can any of these be used with either valve type or is it just a case of use what you prefer? I have no radiator hose or water pump so am open to options!

Many thanks in advance :highfive:

Jon

Thanks, does the right hand hose go to the pump?

Nope, the R/H hose goes to the bottom hose with the additional take off point by the look of the pix.

They all use the bottom hose for the return. The take off will be from the head, one way or another.

Perhaps the biggest difference for cobbling a system together is the hose size. Systems with the valve on the head are 1/2". The remote valve is 5/8".
