I haven't had any problems with the later ones from MiniSpares…..but I did have an early one come apart in only a few months just like the OP.

I used a Morris minor 1000 heater valve on the head, https://www.ebay.co....2-/331119309945

and a taxi TX2 heater control valve https://www.ebay.co....l-/142068129706

which by-passes the heater when off to keep the coolant flow moving from the back of the cylinder head.

I must admit, it does all look a bit "Steampunk" so if you didn't ever want to turn it off, the DSN elbow would look a bit more modern. I have an MPI heater so the TX2 valve is under the dash.

I'm figuring out how to use a fiesta H shaped valve on a mk1 mini. With an electrical on off switch.

prob is my hose is 1/2” , valve is 5/8

Be careful the valve may not have been a direct 12v feed in the fiesta, you might fry it...
