Cheers for the nice comments guys!

The cage was from Minisport but i ordered it over the phone as its not on the website and are normally made to order. But its a safety devices one so you can probably get them from Mini spares too.

Random question do many people on here go to the Castle Combe mini action day in September? because i wouldn't mind having a look at a turbo mini close up.

Ive done a bit of digging and people seem to use Ford sierra cosworth ones, does anyone know if you just find an old used one or are there similar new/reproduction ones for not to much money?

Just use an old one, give it a swish out with petrol or thinners if it's a bit oily, let it air and hose it out.

Nice that's what i was hoping to hear. One thing I have not come across yet is oil lines/feeds. From what I have heard you need an oil feed for the turbo to keep it lubricated. I know on some cars they drill a hole in the sump or similar part of the engine and use that as an oil feed/ oil return, do you have to do something like that on a mini?

Another quick one, what blow of values do you guys use?

Thanks for the info!

The oil feed to the turbo is pressurised and is usually taken from the hole in the block where the oil warning sensor goes, using a T-piece in line. The return usually goes into the back of the block where the mechanical fuel pump usually mounts. The return is just drained by gravity, so must be as unrestrictive as possible.

Phil.

Oh awesome so no drilling the block hah. Phil I have a question for you on the heads you offer, how much of a power difference is there between the road/track day head and the race head? I know it all depends on the boost you run but I was just wondering how much more you get for not being able to run unleaded.

Thanks again

Ok guys so im thinking of changing my plan slightly and turboing my current 1100 engine and then down the line doing a 1293 as most of the parts will swap off one engine onto the other. So what i was wondering is can I use the same head i would for a 1293 on the 1100? or would the pockets not be the correct size/offset?

Sorry for the dumb questions haha

Edit, Another stupid one. Can you use the same cams in all mini engines or do 998s use a different one to 1275s?
