These are the readings, 1 being nearest to radiator
1. 159 PSI
2. 132 PSI
3. 132 PSI
4. 159 PSI

The car runs fine though I am getting a puff of smoke on
Overrun when I have just put my foot down. Also the exhaust has a lot of black soot on it but the plugs seemed ok.
Could there be an issue with the head gasket between 1&2
Or is this a piston ring nightmare.

Is this a standard 1275GT motor or has it been modified?

The lower readings on 2 & 3 could suggest head gasket is not quite sealing fully between two centre cylinders.

Yes the engine is standard, I have been told though with the readings I am getting that if it was the head then those readings would be lower though.

Very likely a valve job needed. Perform a cylinder leakage yes to confirm.
