I have the DSN one and I just used ptfe tape and its held up just fine.having called both MED and DSN
Both the MED and the DSN housing are 1/4 NPT (tapered).
DSN assured me that the the issue I thought i was having is a non issue. I should use some thread sealant-

I used ptfe tape on my DSN oil filter head / oil temp sender connections, seemed to work.
Did the adapter screw all the way into the housing like in my picture?

Yes it did, at first I thought it was the wrong fitting. Just make sure you put plenty of turns on.Did the adapter screw all the way into the housing like in my picture?

No problem, don't forget to wind the tape on clockwise otherwise it will unravel when you start to tighten it up. You need to put enough on to give plenty of resistance but not so much that it feels as though the housing will burst.Great!
