Could anybody tell me whether it is easy or difficult to put a hif44 SU carb on a 998 engine and tune it to run okay?
I have heard that the hif44 will run nice on a 1275 but i have a cooper 998 and am having trouble with my twin su's.
Thanks Andy

Keep the twins and sort them out! why introduce an unknown Carb into the equation?

Hi,
Dont use a Hif44 on a 998, its too big a carburettor and the engine will not run correctly.
HIF38 or HS4 on 998, or as mentioned get the twin su's set up correctly.
The HIF44 is only useful on a 1275

Stay with the twins. There's lots of help on how to sort them. What problems are you having with them?Could anybody tell me whether it is easy or difficult to put a hif44 SU carb on a 998 engine and tune it to run okay?
