I have a 1980, 850cc mini.

My mechanic tells me the 1.5 carb is no good, and I should look for a 1.25 model.

My question is. If I get a 1.25 carb, is it just a case of unbolting one, and bolting on the replacement?

Depends on what you've got bolted to it now? All1.5 are not the same give us a type or a picture?

Whats the spec of the engine and exhaust and what inlet manifold are you using?

No. The hole alignment is different so you will need a manifold to suit.

If the 1.5 carb is no use, then why did BL fit it? Seem to remember the 60s tweak was to fit the 1.5" carb from an automatic mini.
