Hi everyone,

Looking for a bit of advice, my top rail is going to be re-covered with new vinyl, however the original covering is damaged there are three separate areas where the covering needs to be filled/sanded down biggest is about 1/2" x 2" the underlying molded foam is sound and intact, just wondering if anyone had repaired one before and if so how you went about it.

Ideally what is required is a flexible type filler that to some extent remains pliable, surface finish and colour is not that important as once done will be covered.

Any advice much appreciated

Cheers

Four tips:

Wet the surface before applying it as it will grab a lot better to the existing foam

Use half as much as you think you need

Leave it at least 24hrs then trim it with a new sharp knife then sand it down

Wear gloves

Plus one on wearing gloves; it's very messy stuff if it gets out of hand.
