Door steps,

Seriously consider Heritage here and not Magnum. The Heritage panel also includes part of the B pillar and also the A post.

So this is what i can see but there will be more panels, probably front floor panels. Also the lower rear panel can be bought in three sections which are pattern and a lot cheaper.

Hi all,

So im at the point where i need to start welding new panels in on my 79 mini 1000 of which im fairly happy to do. However i cant seem to figure what panels (Names etc) I need! I know its a fairly straight foward process but i seem to be going around in circles so i thought it best to ask for some help :shifty:

So here we go

That's brilliant, thank you so much you have saved me a lot of time searching! but I suppose I'm going to loose that time saved by welding :D

There is a mixture of Heritage, Magnum and M Machine panels in there so a bit of a mix. Obviously Heritage is chuffing expensive so for the majority if you are on a limited budget then you can go all Magnum.........BUT then there will be issues with fitting. Seriously though the doorsteps, just don't buy Magnum, utter utter utter dross. The Heritage ones which is a combination panel will be better by a country mile.

Now i did add in to the mix the quarter panel repair sections. IF and its a big IF there is rot on the top of the quarter panels or any other damage then chin them off completely and buy a replacement quarter panel. Personally i go Heritage every time but the Magnum quarter panels that go up the B and C pillar can be made to fit well.

Floor pans. Now if it localized damage ie just the front then buy the standard repair panels

These are ok, not the best but usable. Be careful when trimming them down and think about how you will weld them in place. Also bare in mind underneath, little things like fuel, brake, battery power cable lurk under them.

If however the rears are bad as well then start to think about half floors. Buy from M Machine then as theirs are really good and reasonably priced.

the one thing i will say is now i would buy the door surround rather than the heritage step repair the price is only slightly different and gives wider option for repair
