Hello all new to the forum & have a tech question already.
I have a 2009 Cooper S ( An R56?)
Bought it in March this year had a lot of paper work & service history.
2 weeks ago the oil light came on so stopped & checked the oil. To my amazement it was super low.
Bought the correct oil & topped it up, for the next week kept checking the oil & all was good.
A week later the oil light came on again so checked the level & it hadn't lost any. We took it back to the dealer & their mechanic checked it over & could find no fault. The light was coming on only under very low speeds. Took it to our local garage who is a family friend, they were suspicious at how much had been done in the Jan 2017 service. Timing chain, oil pressure sensor switch e.g.
They too could find no leaks or obvious clue to the light coming on at intervals usually at slow speed.
We read on the inter web that you have to tell the car you have topped the oil up so we cleared this last night.
Can any one help with this could it of been a service light or will my lovely car go bang.
Thanks
