Is there anything different between a manual and auto bodyshell.  Could I buy a bare shell that's been restored but was originally an auto... and put everything from my manual  donor onto it.  Or will I have to start welding in brackets and cutting holes etc.

if you are rebuilding the shell with parts from a different car then the car needs to keep the ID of the shell. you can not use the ID from the parts to rebuild your car you need to use a brand new shell.

you will need to cut a hole in the center tunnel to suit the shifter mechanism.
