Was going along a nice Lane no traffic thought I would do a 3000 to 4000 revs in third was 3 seconds be intetested what a standard 1275 does

means little.

 

what is a standard 1275? was it a standard Gbox? was it a standard FD? what wheels and tyres?

He possibly means a standard 1275 without any modifications to the engine and drivetrain....

but there are so many 1275s versions that were "standard"

S, MPi, SPi, GT, etc etc etc then the standard Metro or Allegro or........ and then the S pack that slowed everything down....

Standard 1275 say with 64 hp no mods

Still impossible 3-4k rpm will be quite different speeds with different FD ratios alone. You could have a play with this to get an idea
