Okay so I am changing my 1988 998cc Mayfair to electronic ignition with a conversion kit.

 

Could anybody shed some light on which conversion kit i should be using, and where the best place to get this is?

I expect your engine will have a 59D distributor. If so this should do the job:

I have a kit in my MGB - very easy install and no issues.

There are other very similar products around which I suspect are the same product rebranded.
