I’ve got to replace at least 2 (maybe 3) of my window channels (the ones attached to the bottom of the glass) before they disintegrate completely.

To save a bit money, I’m hoping I can salvage the good ones on some spare windows (ones clear and heavily scratched anyways). Only is they an easy way of getting the old/new ones off the glass without shattering the glass in the process?

Is it just a case on gently knocking the off with a bit of wood and plenty of lubrication?

Only done that job once and I presoaked penetrating oil in and then tapped one end off with a Uber mallet and block of wood. I had a wee bit of sheet metal that I used against the window as an extra bit of protection.

Once one end was loose, it was easy enough to wiggle off the rest of the way.

The metal channels don’t half get a bit crusty!! Just shows how much moisture there’s in the door and how bad the squeegee seal is. I sprayed in tons of Dynax after the last door resin session.

Seen someone selling a Stainless Steel all in one piece on eBay at a decent price.
