After springing a leak in my 2nd fletcher radiator from minisport after not even a year on each one I think its time I get a different one.

So im after recommendations of a decent long lasting one, doesn't have to be alloy just needs to be up to the job of cooling my engine.

The engine is as follows(to gauge an idea of the cooling needed):

1330cc

RE13OT cam

Ported head

90bhp & torque

82 degree stat and an aux electric fan

The fletcher one did the job when cruising on a normal day and thrashing hard, however ive just been on a trackday and the 3 hour drive there in the 36 degree heat and the track day itself seemed abit too much for the radiator.

Any recommendations/links would be much appreciated

you are running a Mech fan as well as the Aux electric aren't you?

if you are not you will always have issues.

I run a Minispares 2 core rad. I was chasing cooling problems and discovered that the use of a spacer to move the mechanical fan closer to the radiator made a noticeable difference to the cooling.

Just don't place it too close to the radiator as a blade catching the radiator fins leads to the rapid loss of all blades (though not the radiator interestingly enough).

yes the fan should be positioned correctly in the cowling or it will not work correctly. it is not the closeness to the rad but the correct position to create air flow.

I dont know if its any different in the UK, but over here we dont have g11-12 blue coolant that protects alloy

My mate Lee Smart makes bespoke alloy radiators for race cars with 230 bhp and revving to 8500 rpm, and also Ministox ;)
