Hiya, not sport this time but an interesting video about what a chap found amongst some old car manuals bought at a car boot sale. It goes to show what can turn up when you least expect it, enjoy.

That's a great find. Thanks for sharing. Brings back memories.
The body torsion test rig shown was at Cowley. Longbridge experimental had one as well and we used to compare results.
1000 miles of MIRA pave' and washboard was equivalent to 8 years and 50,000 miles. Minor cracks and spot weld failures were acceptable, providing not in critical areas. The speed was chosen to provide maximum suspension loads into the body.
Every 20 laps we used to drive slowly forwards and backwards through the shallow wading through to cool the dampers.
After my apprenticeship I started in experimental in 1974 and we were still carrying out these kinds of tests.

Also it just so happens that one the the said fibreglass mini shells is on eBay at the moment!

Very interesting. Would be amazed to find further documents regarding the shells and built up cars. Shame they never took it further!
