The old dilemma of finding someone with specialist knowledge to do standard set up of MEMS MPi Injection and Ignition near to Watford Hertfordshire. I'm having issues of it running rich and not passing MOT.Tried the usual suspects but feel someone with knowledge of these systems would know how to tune it properly. Any ideas who would be the company or person to contact, many thanks.

You cannot 'tune' an MPi as the ECU is locked down though you can get basic diagnostic readers which may point out some issues with sensors and readings.

With usual MOT issues bottle of fuel additive to clean out injectors, give the car a good run before.

I use these peeps which is not too far away. Have a good knowledge of Minis and have the Rover diagnostic readers for an MPi. They are very good and will not rip you off. They are near the station back to Watford if need to leave the car over.

You need someone who has what's called a T4 or Rover Testbook... and the best place to find one of those is a Landrover Specialist.

If an MPi is running rich (overfueling) then assuming it does not have any chip modifications, aftermarket fuel pressure regulators, LCB (especially those where the lambda is only sampling cylinders 1 and 4 ) or other non standard modifications...

The common cause it a air temp missread or the lambda sensor is fubar.

If they have the appropriate leads and software/ CDs....for the mini MPi
