Hi

I have a 1986 Austin Mini that I am having trouble with. About a month ago it had a new 998 a+ engine and it has been running really well but recently it has started spluttering a lot. The petrol tank and carb have been cleaned out and it has new fuel lines but we still cannot figure out what is wrong with it. It will turn over and sound like it wants to fire and as soon as it does it just dies, even when the car is running it just wont rev or go fast enough to keep itself going.

If any of you have had this same problem it would be great it you could give any advice.

could be anything. Check the ignition side of things first and go from there. Points, condenser, cap etc

check what has changed from when it was running well.

you say new engine. New or just new to you? have you discussed it with the builder have you set it up to their requirements?
