Does anyone know of known issues with MPI washers. Mine have stopped working, the motor runs ok so I fitted a new switch which made no difference so I tried another with the same result. If I put a wire loop across the two terminals on the plug connector the motor runs ok which implies that the switch is the problem but it seems too much of a coincidence that my original switch and the two replacements (both Rover originals from a reputable Mini spares supplier) are faulty.

All help appreciated.

Thanks

Pull the hoses off the jets and try, usually blocked jets as per Eric.sen

I’ve had a few issues in the past -
1.There’s a one way flow valve on the hose, usually not far from the pump. Try taking it out.
2.I had an intermittent problem with a wire going into the plug at the pump. Rover used some pretty poor cable.
3. The plugs can oxidise their contacts easily, pretty hard to clean up properly too.

There's confusion here - OP, when you pull the lever on the stalk, does the motor run?

I used a small needle and inserted it into the sprayer nozzle... I was assuming it was clogged because motor ran, but no fluid came out... unplugged under the hood and fluid flowed... Occam's Razor and all... worked like a charm, though I wish the spray wasn't just a stream (it was clogged when I got it, so I have no way of telling if it is not normal or if the original sprayers just kinda suck a bit.
