I heard somewhere that the bonnets from the late 60's to 1996 were all the same dimensions, well I'm hoping so anyway as I've just bought a 1992 bonnet for my 1971 car!

Are there any big differences I need to bear in mind and bolt off or bolt on any feature?

Overall will this bonnet fit my car?

Yep that will fit. the hing mounting points were different on the mk1's (maybe mk2's) and the mk1's don't have the lip on the front of the bonnet for the chrome trim.

Whatever you do never replace the bonnet hinges. You might have Part No. CZH146/147 only fitted  in 1969/70 & exceedingly hard to find. Even the more normal Mk3 hinges (CZH530/531) are (sort of) V shaped compared to the later models which are more U shaped (BMP348/349 1980 on).

I'm really not happy I made a 87 mile trip up to collect this bonnet used the number he gave me: no ringtone, no voicemail, nothing- straight to wrong number/ number doesn't exist beep and cuts me off. I tried 7 times!
The postal code he gave me was for a pub! Turned up anyway giving the benefit of the doubt- never heard of him and hadn't a clue what I was talking about!

Long story short I traveled even further afield to Warrington and to m & m mini spares, utter lifesavers <3

I've been driving all day and have only just got back after leaving at 8;45 this morning

Gotta agree though getting in and out is like driving on cobblestones with the track and potholes lol! I was thinking my poor car!
I worried them apparently turning up in my BMW mini, I had them thinking 'we. Don't do parts for those' apparently (they told me), bonnet fit in my car with miles of room to spare! Just shows the size difference between the two models eh? 😂
