Right. Got it apart.moved the yellow cog and I can move the first row. Do I have to wind it mile by mile or can I just do it like a combination padlock. 50k+ is gonna take for ever. I'd be better off going forwards@

Wait for someone to confirm but I'm pretty sure they keep pushing along, as you set them. Although this is quicker though, once done it's almost impossible to get the digits to line back up perfectly... whereas mile by mile their alignment is unaffected.

If they are centre clocks the speed is 1,376 turns a mile, my dremal turns at 10,000 RPM. That's around 7.2 miles a minute, if your on 56k that's 44k to go so around 6,100 minutes or about 4 days.

I burnt my dermal motor out drilling out a hard bolt for around 15 minutes so your dermal won't last that long unfortunately.

I would just turn it mile by mile whilst watching the TV, unless someone has messed around in the past and the numbers are already mis-aligned in which case I would do it the 2 minute way. If your watching your favourite show time will pass quite quickly and so will the miles.

Also I'm not trying to be a pain in the arse I know it sounds that way :/.

If you gently lever the numbers apart they'll move freely enough. Line them up well though.

Thats what I've done. It was 59k miles yesterday.I only wound it to 60k and realised I could move the 6 round freely if I levered it as you say. Will line it up better before it goes in permanently.
