I have a 2000 Cooper Sport with 90 BHP minisport conversion. The car is running the Cooper 8.4" brakes and had a full respay last year. It has 18k miles on the clock and is rust free and dry stored. It's in very good condition and has previously been in a magazine. The insurance is due for renewal on it along with another car I have and I want both cars on agreed valuation policies.

Realistically, what's it worth?

I haven't seen another like it for sale. I've only seen the bog standard Cooper Sports which vary massively in price with mileage. I'd say condition wise we only need to attend to a few minor things to turn it into a concours car. We went to a local car show last week which had 8-9 minis and we were by far the best by a very long way but they weren't concours cars.

I'm a bit stumped on the value. I'm probably thinking £18k but have seen some that make me think nearer £20k but haven't a clue. You can pick up similar miles Cooper Sports for around £15k and given the condition, history and modifications we have then I think maybe £20k may be about right but just because you spend £2.5k on a Cooper conversion doesn't mean that the cars value goes up by that. I really don't know. Any help please?

You need to post this in the valuations section.

It would be worth you joining the forum for £5 then you can post in the valuatino sections and the forsale sections, which is a handy thing to have

Not sure that's what is required he he isn't trying to sell its for insurance. Think of it this way. You need to buy a car in as good condition in the first place then add the modifications to your car and a small buffer for any unforeseen travel to look at cars etc etc I say try 20k if the insurance company say no go from there.

Mine is insured for 5 which is much more then it is worth for outright sale but I could find one to replace it for that and would cover my out of pockets for travel etc

I would have said closer to ten personally, there's quite a few on the market for big money but unless they're a rare, sought-after model they just ain't selling.

If anything the market is starting to turn the other way recently and prices are stabilising.

but then if the insurance company will accept £20k then get it insured for that :)

Just ask a mod to move the thread, saves re-doing it all again.
