Is the headset pictured the best available for a 1275mg metro engine? I know it says mpi but apparently the mpi uses better manifold gasket and much better valve stem seals.

the only reason that is MPi is that it has the MPi exhaust gasket and the 2 thermostat housing gaskets. do you reall need them? and does it actually use the MPi spec valve seals?

But for MG Metro spec engine the Minispares GEG300 head gasket set may be better choice: https://www.minispar.../AJM1141MS.aspx

 

I would concentrate on quality of the head gasket, in my experience the manifold gaskets are rarely a problem.

Bk450 gasket is good

I don't use headsets, I buys the gaskets and seals needed for the Job. That way you can select the best quality parts for your build.
