I'm still fizzing from an altercation I've had with bloke in the street. Last November I had a note placed on my car saying it was too noisy and that it woke his family up at 4am on a regular basis. I'm still in bed at that time of the day so it's not me. Today I get a barrage of abuse about how inconsiderate I am driving a '£50 banger'. Says I should scrap it,Says its noisy,a piece of crap etc. My dash cam caught the lot and I've been in touch with the police who surprisingly took it seriously. It's keep up with the jones' round here so my nearly 20 year old Vauxhall Frontera is clearly not cutting the mustard. Part of me is laughing but the other part of me is properly wound up....can't sleep either hence posting this at gone 2am. Its a kick up the butt to get the wife's mini on the road although I have second thoughts on an RC40 exhaust for it.
Any one else have stories of wonderful neighbors?

I hear my neighbours Range Rover SVR every time he comes and goes, he leaves the house at 6.20 (although he was later yesterday). They're lovely though so it really doesn't bother me.

The woman onthe other side is strange. She had a rat in her garden that I went round and killed, done a few favours for her but when my rotary washing machine snapped and I temporarily (literally until that load of washing dried) tied the line to the fence she had a go at my wife saying we'd be responsible if the fence pulled down.

I don't think she's got enough to worry about in her life.

Only just recently we're had a busybody tell us we have too many cars and this only started because my dad asked some pikeys doing her garden to move their van and tree shredder trailer because it was blocking our drive! It's never been an issue in the last 11 years! So next door came round afterwards for a moan about our cars and that it wasn't our place to ask them to move! All my cars are legal still even though they hardly move, all on our drive, not in her way as we are at the end of a cul de sac, private estate so what the hell as it got to do with her!

I'm lowering the tone apparently  be different if they had bumpers hanging off, flat tyres, tarpaulins flapping about.... But they are all ready to jump into...

Yeah, definitely need to rethink the RC40, it'll be nowhere near loud enough!

Cherry bomb time

My wife and I both agreed that if I'm forced to replace it,it's going to be a BMW 545i with the pipes cut off.
I really want to post the vid but I'm not sure of the legal side if I need it for later.

My next door neighbours are genuinely amazing. They keep plating me up a Sunday dinner and bringing it round even though I keep telling them that I'm fine.

I think they think I'm a bit hard up as I drive around in a 17 year old civic and my garden looks a mess from the car parts sitting round it, yet I think I'm better off than them.

The couple a few doors down from did very politely ask if I could keep the noise down regarding power tools after 8pm as they have small children. The fact they asked nicely and their request is reasonable, I've complied. Someone else near me came round to complain all guns blazing. Needless to say I have taken the approach of 'nuts to them'.

The owner of the Indian takeaway next to me is a problem. He's claimed that I've moved my fence and it is restricting his property. My solicitor did some digging and found out he's made the same claim against the two previous occupants of my house. A stern letter to him later treating him with legal action on some grounds based on false accusations and he's gone quiet.

House next to me has a DB9, the V12 screams when it starts every morning, sometimes early but good on her for driving one daily I think

My old next door neighbour was a Paedophile, he went to prison and then the police came around to search the house (whilst he was inside) and took away some unregistered fire arms.

His kids (all grown up and not living at home) then started threatening my wife (who was heavily pregnant at the time) and I whilst his wife shut herself in the house and only came out to go to work and back and to visit him in prison.

Fortunatly their landlord evicted them and they are gone now.

Puts a whiole new spin on neighbour disputes, if your neighbours are a bit noisy or park inconsideratly it could always be a hell of a lot worse!

I'm in a terraced position. One side is great and the other is ... erm....

I got a knock on the door to complain about my dogs. Now this sounds ordinary enough on the outset but I'll explain that I'm a time served dog trainer and none of them bark unless there's an intruder.. or a hot air balloon but I'm working on that lol.
The complaint was that their nails scratch around the garden and the scratch around in stones? This is the honest truth!

The next complaint was that my heating cut in twice after midnight when we last had a real cold snap. Then there were complaints that we were "lumping and banging".
This turned out to be the new combi boiler re setting its self. I sleep through it?

These people are getting on in years and sit in the house all day with no radio or tv on.. hmmm fun!

Recently they've been stealing more and more cats from the local area ( feeding ten plus local cats every day) and these often brawl in the early hrs. Oh that lovely song at 4am is purrfect!
Thier son is a truck driver, up at 4:30 to shower (next to our room) and leaves early for work at 5 am. We hear him start his v6 under our window every day but have never complained as living next to people who have to live a life make noise... simple

Can you imaging if I broke a grinder out at the house?

These people make sooooo much noise but I can't rustle a bag of crisps without getting moaned at.

My neighbour threw a lit object onto my partners car for no apparent reason (think jealous). We confronted them and they called police on us. Needless to say they didnt tell police about the object and our cctv soon got the police questioning them. Decided to let it be and move on....mistake?

Few months later he turned his works van round on my front drive at 5am with all lights on and reverse warning etc. Street was empty. Called his work and complained and he was stopped fetching van home..

... several days later a solicitors letter for harassment. Wrote to them with all the previous facts....police details etc.

Not a word since and i sometimes wave to him walking in rain to go collect his van.

Haha!! Love it. Often the best course of action is to be polite and play the long game

I did inform them of the video. They offered to have a word but i said not to just yet. I'll give enough rope and if he does it again then I will get them to have a word. Everyone who's seen it though says he's out of order. If he has an issue then I don't know why he can't just talk normally about the issue rather than act like a D**k. I've carried on as normal in the mean time and nothing else has happened. As a side note his wife's not been around for a couple of months now,I've seen her stop by briefly when he's not there so I guess he may have marriage troubles.
