Help About Springs Coilovers Suspension

Hi i bought a kit standard height Protech coilovers suspension that i want to put a springs, its for a mini vtec

​My Idea is 425lb on front and 150lb on rear but i dont know what height, I understand i have to go to 1.9" but the height? 7",7.5", 8",9".....

depends on how much the car weighs at each corner, and how much preload you want, and how long your shocks are.

 

so what are your corner weights? as that is a good starting point.

 

then how are your shocks fitted in relation to the suspension movement?

Also, most coil over shock bodies have adjstable spring bases, that give you around 30 - 50 mm of 'fine' adjustment.

but fine adjustment of what though.

 

if the shock is not fully extended all the adjustment does is change the ride height. no preload or anything else.

 

so the spring needs to have the correct length for the shock body to give the ride height you want in the first place. then you can adjust the rings to adjust the preload to limit the static sag. there is way more to springs that there is to the simple reliable working rubber spring.

 

i do have some info on suggestions for a Z car but not sure which. will see if i can find it.

Fine adjustment of what ever spring length is finally chosen,,,,,

hi the protech coilovers are

13.25” front

14”       rear

 

and the springs what im thinking are

 

1.9" 8" 425lb front i want to use for a daily car...

1.9" 9" 150lb rear

 

the weight on the corners are

 

211kg     216kg

125kg     110kg
