Thought I'd start a project thread on my other mini, I bought it about 6 months ago and havent really touched it since due to working on the orange one. Its a 1986 Austin, with a Metro 1275, runs and drives, though needs a tune up! I havent got the biggest budget to do it, but if I find something that needs sorting, it will be done properly, not bodged (this car has enough already ) I've just been stripping it down this past few evenings, found its worse than originally thought but I did get it for a very good price off a guy my mate works with. I did alot of mechanics with my other one, but wanted to try out some bodywork so expect plenty of pics and questions!
So far I've found both boot corners made out of plastic, flat sheet oversills, tubs and tubs worth of filler, drivers side needs both sills, a panel, a post, doorstep, rear quarter, rear valance, plenty to be done. Havent really looked at the passenger side yet! I've chipped away the sound deadening and got the wire brush out on everything. I need to order a inner sill and brace the shell so I can cut the rot out.. Behind the dash is like a rats nest of wiring, I'm tempted to buy a new (2nd hand) loom? As this one is seriously chopped up
It did come with this though :)
