It doesnt help that my fuel gauge is not accurate at all and the highest it reads is 3/4 even though petrol ended up spilling everywhere, and it will read 1/2 for most of a journy and then start shooting down ;(
Any help is appreciated
Thank you

I have an spi mini which I bought off a mechanic who said it had "no issues". Im now in the process of fixing all of them and one which Im stuck on is when I try to refuel the pump clicks and it stops refilling but if i gently pull the trigger or drive around the petrol station I can get a few extra litres in. Ive done some research but am still confused so any help and pictures would be really helpful

As far as im aware this is normal, both mine and my friends mini the pump handle will stop fueling as it thinks the tank is full, i tend to hold the nozzle halfway out and decide when its full myself, just be careful you dont over fill as it will just come out of the tank breather. Or in some cars i presume it will flood the fuel vapour trap if one is installed.

Your gauge is either faulty or the sender is faulty, with regards to the readings...
With the refuelling, as above, hold the nozzle a little bit out. On mine it does prematurely click off, every now and then when refuelling...

Check the breather. The pump is cutting off because the pressure is building up in the tank, You will have to fill it the way others have described because most fuel tanks have a long neck before the gas actually gets to the tank where as the mini has no filler neck to speak of.

Just take the sender out. It is a long strong wire with a plastic container which swims up and down. Somtetimes the container fills with gas and signals wrong values to the the clock.
I turn the gas filler by 180 degress and have no problem to fill the gas tank.
