Just a quick hello and an introduction....

My name is Steve and I live in the Vancouver area of British Columbia, Canada. I just picked up a mini from a local enthusiast and friend in the area.

It's a 72 that had a ground up resto done 10 years ago. The car is mint in and out with just 48,000 kms on the build. I'm happy to be her new owner.

Looking forward to learning from the great folks on this forum and tinkering with my new toy!!!

Cheers,

Indeed, that is Black Tulip. It is the original color of the car!

I spend hours with the DA polishing it.... that is some serious hard single stage paint!

Did the 5 mph bumper law not start with the 73' model year?

Chris Rees: The Complete Catalogue of the Mini.... "side marker lights from 1970, larger front indicators and eventually extra-powerful heaters, seat belt buzzers and emission control equipment. Most notably, from 1974-1980, Canadian Minis had extraordinary high-mounted impact bumpers."

Steve: a close up photo of the front indicators would be nice (are the made by Butlers?). Similarly a pic of the steering lock (i think it's different to the UK spec).

Is that the original interior? -we didn't get headrests but they appear to be correct for 1970's Canadian Minis.

Front indicators are the glass originals. Interior is original.... recovered. The bumpers are British spec as well as the sidelight / indicators.
