Hello everyone!

Been an on and off silent reader of theminiforum.co.uk for some time but I finally decided to sign up and post.

Recently got a 1976 mk4 998 (unmodified) that im starting to do up. My first mini! Im in the midst of converting it to a mostly mk3 look- removed the dash, converted to centre speedo, etc.

Decided to go with the original clubman steering wheel rather than the original 2 spoke steering because I like the look (car came with one of those 90s rover mini steerings which feel out of place). Got it for 25 quid on ebay and a friend brought it over when he came for a visit.

I also got a mk2/3 steering wheel badge: $_35.JPG

that Id like to try to fit to my clubman steering:

Unfortunately I didn't know that the clubman badges were smaller. Is there a way to remove the plastic cover from the steering wheel so that I can get to the "MINI" logo? Id like to cut it down to size and fit it to the clubman steering.

Oh by the way I currently live in Malaysia, so its wildly expensive to get any parts for the mini as everything has to be shipped over from the UK (and costs 5x as much due to the currency difference)

Hi and welcome to TMF. Sorry I can't help with the badge but I'm sure someone else will offer advice.

If you take out a TMF+ membership which costs £5, you will be able to get a 7.5% discount at mini spares which will help towards the costs of parts.

We look forward to seeing photos of your car.

Thanks Mini Mad!

Will post pics as soon as I get the car back from the workshop. Changing out the floor panels because they were badly rusted. Lesson learned... always take a used mini to an exhaust shop and inspect the undercarriage BEFORE you buy the car :(
