I had look in the engine bay picture pinned thread but could not find a red mini with a white engine bay.

I am thinking of doing this on an MPI because the inside of the bay is so crowded that a bit of light/white around it would help the look i think. And also if the engine block itself is red and other bits shiny it would make the engine standout a bit more - what do you think???

Any pictures anywhere??

Also would you recommend to keep the subframe black or go white with the engine bay?????

so you are going to take the engine out and remove all the parts in the engine bay to paint it a colour that is the worst for showing up dirt?

I would leave it red and the subframe as is.

Personally? How I think it'd look? You don't want to know what I think  :ermm:

I'd stick with the 'normal' body colour engine bay

I agree with the guys above keep it body colour white will look filthy in no time. Black subframe helps hide the inevitable oil leaks!

It'll get dirty really quickly. If you think there's little room, then try and get your hand in to keep it clean. I always find a neat and tidy engine bay more interesting than anything else.

I have a white Hornet that did have a black engine bay; I painted it light grey. It's a nice cross between easy to see everything and not so light it'll show up all the crap. (I think.)

Exactly!
Now I've got a white car, unfortunately the engine bay is as well so I can confirm it gets ruddy filthy in there! Would I change the colour though? Not a chance! And that's for the above reasons

Did all my interiors (cabin, boot, inside face of doors) in black along with the roof.
The body is ermine white(matt) and I regretted not doing the engine bay in black too but after 12 years... It was black anyway! 😂
