an old guy I know recently pulled an engine out of his shed that he says has been there for years, its a A+ engine, the number is

 

12A2EJ18 345078 any ideas on the details of this? I have tried the guess works engine decoder but it does not recognise the EJ18 part? be nice to know what it is.

A quick google on the 2A2EJ18 part shows an SPi engine,  and all pages are german? - Could it be for the german market?  Possibly emissions regs related
